Don’t call it an “expansion” or a “chapter,” but Elder Scrolls Online’s upcoming June Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 hopes to make as much of a splash as in previous years, even so. Over the weekend, ZeniMax Online Studios posted a thinly veiled hype blog in the form of five suggestions on how players can prepare themselves for the non-expansion.
Most of these suggestions point players to the upcoming story, including finishing up the main quest arc, recruiting some new allies, and completing the free prologue quest. Probably the best advice here is to save up in anticipation of the new subclassing feature.
1. Finish Up the Main Quest and Story Arcs
The Seasons of the Worm Cult will likely tie into existing storylines in ESO, so it’s a good idea to complete the main quest as well as any relevant zone storylines you haven’t finished yet. By doing this, you’ll be fully immersed in the upcoming content and ready to pick up on all the new lore and plot developments. Plus, completing these quests will reward you with valuable XP, gold, and other resources that can help you tackle the new challenges.
2. Recruit New Allies
The update will likely introduce new allies, and the Worm Cult could bring in unique NPCs who will assist you during quests or offer additional support. If you’re unfamiliar with some of these potential allies, it might be a good idea to complete quests that allow you to recruit more companions or follow through with guild quests. Recruiting these characters will likely play a crucial role in the new content, so don’t neglect this aspect of preparation.
3. Complete the Free Prologue Quest
As with many ESO updates, there will be a free prologue quest that introduces players to the new story content and mechanics. This is a must-do for any player looking to dive into the Seasons of the Worm Cult content as soon as it releases. The prologue will help set the stage, laying out the key narrative details and giving players a taste of what’s to come.
4. Prepare for Subclassing
One of the biggest new features coming in Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 is the subclassing system. According to the official post, players should make sure their characters are at level 50 and have spare skill points ready to go. Subclassing will likely allow you to further refine your character’s abilities, creating hybrid builds that will give you more flexibility in combat, healing, and support roles.
Here’s what you can do to prepare:
Level your character to 50: If you’re not already there, you’ll need to reach level 50 to access the new system. Focus on completing quests, grinding dungeons, or doing any other activities that grant XP.
Save up skill points: The subclassing system will likely require skill points to unlock additional subclass abilities. Be sure to hold onto those skill points and spend them wisely once the system goes live. If you’ve already spent some, make sure you have a plan for reallocating points.
Save Respec Scrolls: If you want to reassign skill points once subclassing is available, respec scrolls will be essential. They allow you to redistribute your points without penalty, giving you the freedom to experiment with new builds and playstyles.
5. Hang On to Those XP Boosts
Another important tip is to save up any XP boosts you may have accumulated, whether through consumables or ESO Plus. This will help you level up quickly once the subclassing system goes live, and you need to unlock new abilities for your subclass.
Release Dates:
